With the Battle Royale genre exploding in recent years, Call Of Duty: Warzone is the newest and one of the best out there. However, it is also one of the most difficult to win. With 150(!) people dropping in a single map, surviving to the end can be a challenge. Here are 5 tips on how to be the last one standing:
Avoid Major Hotspots Early
As fun as it may be dropping Downtown with 40 other players, there are a couple of reasons this should be avoided. Firstly, you’re not likely to survive the first five minutes. We all know the pain of getting a shotgun that has a firing rate of a cannon and being mowed down instantaneously by an opponent from a position we are still trying to work out. The chances of getting the right guns and being in the right positions are little; so avoid. Secondly, the rewards are not worth it! So you go in and kill 8 people, the guns you have are probably not great and they’ll be swapped out later anyway when you get a Loadout Drop. For the sake of winning, drop somewhere else….
Be Smart On The Drop
Okay, so don’t drop with the masses but where then? Before jumping from the plane, zoom into the map to find Bounty challenges and Capture the Flag icons. Complete these and the loot you receive will tend to be much better than just relying on regular crates, giving you a better chance in engagement. Combined with this, try dropping just inside/ outside of the circle at the beginning. The obvious reason being less people and hence the chances of survival increasing. However there is another reason behind doing this…
Be The Gatekeeper
Being on the edge of the zone can be a very advantageous position. Especially when you know there are people outside of the zone, as you know there is only one direction they will be heading. Use this to your advantage and be the gatekeeper of the zone as they try and move in. By positioning yourself here before the gas has moved in, it gives you the opportunity to get set in a perfect ambush location. Ready to attack unsuspecting enemies as they frantically sprint towards the safe zone.
